Discloses T Sawari, Smart cards, plan electric vehicles
IT and Municipal Administration Minister, K Taraka Rama Rao has said that Hyderabad Metro Rail at Miyapur Metro Station will be launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Nov 28 at 2.15 pm. It will be left open for general public from Nov 29 he told media persons at Nagole Metro Rail Station with ministers and officials after a trial run of the metro rail ahead of its launch.
He claimed that HMR is the best facility in the world in PPP model and the biggest in India and we must be proud of it. Ministers G Jagadish Reddy, Padma Rao Goud, Mahender Reddy, MP Malla Reddy, Mayor Rammohan, Metro Rail MD NVS Reddy, Commissioner Janardhan Reddy and other officials were present. Unveiling T Sawari Card, Multi Purpose Smart Cards and Naa Metro Swachch Metro poster on the occasion KTR said that the people can make use of the smart cards for multi-purpose and prices will be acceptable for public with lower rates. The cards will be useful for multi model transport and T Sawari Cards can be used in buses, autos and cabs in the city he said adding that T Sawari mobile app is to be launched by the prime minister.
HMR acquired 57 Metro Rails and each rail with three coaches can transport 1000 passengers from 6 am to 10 pm and with three more coaches the capacity will be doubled. We plan to conduct three months trial of the metro rail from 6 am to 10 pm, it will be changed based on demand from 5.30 pm to 11 pm. He said that parking facility is available at 24 metro rail stations for two-wheeler, 3-wheeler and 4-wheelers. Sky walks at some metro stations, foot over bridges at others and cycle stations will be in place. KTR vouched for electric vehicles in future to fight pollution to avoid the similar problem of Delhi wherein schools declared holidays.
